01.12.2015 • Ambassador of Poland, Jerzy Marek Nowakowski

On December 1 st , the Diplomatic School hosted H.E. Jerzy Marek Nowakowski, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic Poland in the Republic of Armenia. Ambassador Nowakowski’s outline on the foreign policy priorities of Poland and the bilateral relations between Armenia and Poland was followed by students' questions on Polish-Armenian relations, Eastern Partnership, Migration issues, Poland’s relations with other countries and on Poland’s stance on the events and situation in Syria and in the Middle East.  

27.11.2015 • Ambassador of Turkmenistan, Muhammetniyaz Mashalovs

On November 27 th , the Diplomatic School hosted H.E. Muhammetniyaz Mashalov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Armenia. Ambassador Mashalov delivered a lecture on the foreign policy priorities of Turkmenistan, dwelling on the principles of Turkmenistan’s policy of neutrality and emphasizing its achievements of the past 20 years. The ambassador spoke of the bilateral relations between Armenia and Turkmenistan and answered the students' questions.  

25.11.2015 • Ambassador of the Russian Federation, Ivan Volynkin

On November 25 th , the Diplomatic School hosted H.E. Ivan Volynkin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Armenia. Ambassador Volynkin delivered a lecture on the foreign policy priorities of the Russian Federation, spoke of the Russian operations against terrorist groups in Syria and the steadily growing cooperation between Armenia and Russia in various spheres. The Ambassador answered students' questions on the incident of Russian Su-24 being shot down by Turkish Air Forces, on already registered results and perspectives of cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union, on  the re-opening of Abkhazian section of the Georgian railway, CSO reforms and on different issues of the agenda of Armenian-Russian relations.  

24.11.2015 • Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghossyan

On November 24 th , the Diplomatic School hosted Ms. Hasmik Poghossyan, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia. During her traditional annual meeting with the DS students the Minister spoke of the existing challenges and government priorities in the sphere and the role of the Ministry of Culture in the implementation of Armenia’s cultural diplomacy. The Minister answered the numerous questions asked by the students on protection of cultural heritage, on politicization of culture by certain countries and the changes in the law regulating the field.  

20.11.2015 • First Deputy Minister of Defence Davit Tonoyan

On November 20 th the Diplomatic School hosted  Mr Davit Tonoyan,  the First Deputy Minister of Defence. An introductory lecture, dedicated to the RA defence and security doctrines, and Armenia’s engagement in international security systems, was followed by a Q&A session on the situation on the line of contact between the armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan and Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the possible consequences of everyday violations of the cease-fire regime, on the military cooperation of Armenia with other countries and the fight against terrorism.

18.11.2015 • Ambassador of India T. Suresh Babu

On November 18 th , the Diplomatic School hosted the Ambassador of India in Armenia, H.E. Dr. T. Suresh Babu. The Indian Ambassador spoke of the main tenets of India's foreign policy and the history and current status of Armenian-Indian bilateral relations. A Q&A session completed the meeting. 17.11.2015 • Ambassador Jean-Francois Charpantier of France

  On 17 th November, the Diplomatic School hosted the Ambassador of the French Republic, H.E. Mr. Jean-Francois Charpentier. Ambassador Charpentier talked about the preparations of the 2015 Paris Climate Conference COP 21, to be held in November-December, the main problems to be discussed at the conference and some solutions offered by France. He emphasized the importance of taking flexible decisions so that they are acceptable for all countries and the necessity of differentiated approach towards states on different stages of development, although stressed that every state should have its share of responsibility for this global challenge. The lecture was followed by an array of questions on the recent event in Paris, the situation in Syria, fight against terrorism and on COP 21.

13.11.2015 • Ambassador of Lebanon Jean Makaron

On 13 th   November, Diplomatic School hosted Ambassador of Lebanon, H.E. Mr. Jean Makaron. The Ambassador presented foreign policy priorities of Lebanon, shared his vision on diplomatic service. The Ambassador also touched upon Armenian-Lebanese relations and answered questions by the students. 12.11.2015 • Ambassador of People's Republic of China Tian Erlong

On 12 th November, Diplomatic School hosted Ambassador of the Peoples Republic of China, H.E. Mr. Tian Erlong. The Ambassador presented fundamental principles of foreign policy of China and China’s position on some current issues of international relations. 11.11.2015 • Rouben Galichian's lecture

On November 11, the Diplomatic School hosted Rouben Galichian, the author of several well-known books on historic maps of Armenia and the region, as well as on the clashing histories in the region. An Honorary Doctor of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, and long-time researcher, Galichian has published several books on these topics, in English, Armenian and Russian, including “Historic Maps of Armenia. The Cartographic Heritage”,   “Countries South of the Caucasus in Medieval Maps”, “The Invention of History” and “Clash of Histories in the South Caucasus”. Galichian spoke of the map-making principles and how they evolved during history, types and peculiarities of different maps and inclusion of Armenia in maps throughout history. He also reflected on the use of some geographic names and distortion of historic realities by certain countries.
